Weekly roadkill report

One fresh raccoon carcass, ol' Rocky was too slow again. Also something invisible but smelly off to the side of the road a couple of miles further on.
Live wildlife gave a better show -- bald eagle circling over the river as I headed across on the start of my ride, and a flock of wild turkeys (6-8) about 20 miles out.
More of that damned purple weed this week, thicker than I remember from the same route last year. Yep, it's gonna take over the world. Just wait until it turns carnivorous.
And Lance won, says he's retiring at age 30-something. What's he planning to do with the rest of his life? Hang out backstage at Ms. Crow's concerts? But the man sure set a high bar for anyone else to try to jump.
Bit of entertainment on our evening walk yesterday. Woodchuck in yard on the next block over, cat on porch about five feet away. Cat internal debate: "It's a mouse. No, it ain't. It's _some_ kind of rodent, I ought to pounce. No way, mother, I ain't pouncing on _that_. It might pounce back." Cat settles into wary crouch, tail tip twitching....
