Some miscreant left chunks of polished granite slab on the road over a distance of about 10 miles on my route, reinforcing the bicyclist's survival imperative of WATCH THE DAMNED ROAD! I avoided all such obstacles.
One dead raccoon, looked like a yearling, and a wild turkey in the roadkill column. Plus a lot of gray squirrels and at least one chipmunk.
A lot more of the showy asters along the roadsides of one town -- I wonder if they were part of a seed mix.
Got out on the bike, upriver and across and down and back into the hills a bit. Did not die.
