Friday roadkill report

One dead mink in the road as I headed out of town. Puzzled over that one for a bit, because the fur seemed darker than usual. But they vary, it could have been damp from the river fog, and there isn't anything else in that size range and weasel-body around here.
More trees starting to turn, particularly the red maples in the bog. More milkweed pods starting to dry out and split, but they haven't gone to fluff yet.
Got out on the bike, modified route as the water district still has that intersection buggered. Ride takes me over a thousand miles for the year. Did not die.
