Too damn hot

AND too damn humid. Temperatures are in the 80s F right now, may hit 90 F later. (I hope they hit it hard, do enough damage that it won't work anymore....)
I need to mow the lawn. I do not need heat stroke.
If the weather gods weren't holding out the hope of highs in the 60s later this week, I'd set up that air conditioner we bought last year.
In other news, Wife pointed out a place where I could insert two paragraphs into GHOST POINT to explain why the Bad Guys were picking on The Bitch. Happens that they were _wrong_, but that's small consolation.

Date: 2005-06-13 03:06 pm (UTC)About that heat stroke -- I gave up owning a lawnmower in favor of helping out the local economy. Mr. Stetson comes by every 10 days to 15 days (depending on rain, heat, grass growth...) and I pay him $twentysomething bucks. He and his sidekick come in with a roar, two lawnmowers, two weed-eaters, and it's done. Given the luck I was having with lawnmowers (we were broke so I was using cast-offs, lend mes and fix-ups), the lack of a shed to safely storemower, gas, oil, and our often lengthy times away for convetnions in lawn season and etc...it's a winner. No gas and oil for the local no-goodie to steal, no useless sweat, and my neighbors are happy. Plus, we don't have to fuss at each other about the blackflies/wasps/yellow-jackets/misquitoes/sunburn.
