Thursday vernal report

Feral apple trees blooming, lilacs starting to open, flowering quince . . . flowering, in town. That should please the advance scouts of the hummingbird horde. Marked down another probable mockingbird territory on my route, half-way between two others but about a mile from either. Kingbird sighted.
Roadkill limited to one red squirrel. Another seen alive, so we haven't wiped out the species.
Temperature got up to 56 F so I added miles to the bike total. Today's ride takes me over 200 miles for the season. Did not die.
