The gods must be crazy
Apr. 24th, 2005 11:08 amWeather gods, anyway. The sun came out. The wind blew. I took a bike ride.
Took the cross-town route, as I do NOT trust the weather gods and that route gives me a nearly infinite choice of retreats and temporary shelters. Turns out I could still be riding, but that wind is a royal pain.
Bunch of gulls out at the airport, blown inland by the storm, mix of herring and ringbill types as far as I could tell at 15 mph. Taxonomy doesn't really matter when one of them gets sucked into those GE or Pratt and Whitney vacuum cleaners....
First redwing blackbird claiming the cattails in the mini-marsh near our house -- Wife had been seeing them out at the nature center for weeks, but none here. I guess this is an inferior marsh, only acceptable as Plan B.
