Jul. 1st, 2004 10:17 pmWell, I rushed my schedule for the bike ride due to a weather forecast -- "Thunderstorms due between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM." So now it's nearly 10:30 and I'm looking out the window at a nearly-full moon and dry pavement....
At my age, I should know better than to believe those false prophets.
We seem to have a mix of melanistic woodchucks around here. Scared up another one, out between the GE plant and the Air Guard base hardstands, nearly black instead of the normal glossy brown. But maybe he got into an oil spill. That base dates back to WWII, and the military has never been particularly careful about dumping nasties.

Date: 2004-07-02 03:56 pm (UTC)And the storms wandered by again this afternoon, about half an inch of rain in twenty minutes, lightning strikes on houses and businesses here in town, fire trucks howling this way and that. I _told_ those people not to stir up the Wrath of God!
