Omens you don't ask about

Six turkey vultures circling over a residential neighborhood.  We did not investigate the area under their attention.

Hmm... By coincidence, my husband and I were just discussing a murder investigation that's currently in the news. In the UK, most bodies seem to be found by people walking their dogs. Perhaps in the US, you follow the vultures?

Bodies in woods are generally found by hunters, years later. Bodies in parks are often found by joggers. Bodies in hotel rooms are found by the housekeeping staff, who really don't deserve to have bad days like that.

A fair (unfair?) percentage of bodies are found by police officers, responding to a 911 call.
