One adult beaver squashed-enough that I'm identifying it by fur and size.  Also, couple of squirrels.

Not-roadkill, a pair of loons in amongst the cormorants on the river.  The loons would be transients stopping off for a quick fish or two (maybe some of Fisheries and Wildlife's carefully-nurtured Atlantic salmon smolts . . .), as they generally settle down on lakes and ponds for breeding territory.  Tidal rivers are short on nesting locations.

(Edit: forgot to mention the not-roadkill muskrat seen swimming in a roadside pond.)

Windy* but relatively warm this morning, so I headed upriver and across and down.  Indication of the wind effect would be my average of about 10 mph upriver and 15 down . . .

But 'tis all exercise.

*"Windy" defined as north wind 25 mph gusting to 35.  But I wasn't the only cyclist out in it.  We get desperate around here.
