I don't know your micro-climate -- Maine and New Hampshire, your slope and sun exposure and distance inland count for a lot. We'd usually plant bulbs (crocus, daffodil, etc) in the fall, for next spring growth. Only time we've had paperwhites, they came as gifts in small indoor pots.

I've seen glads in flower gardens around here, but again, Maine almost-coastal can be warmer (is that term appropriate?) than New Hampshire inland.
