Okay, I did my year-end accounting yesterday, as previously noted.

Today, I receive a check from one of the architecture projects.  Yay.  But.

Check was written in 2008.  Will be reported to the IRS as paid to me in 2008.  Will be on 2008 taxes.

Even though I didn't see the money until 2009 . . .

Accounting entropy strikes again.

I'm fully expecting to see the same insanity with my expected check from Science Fiction Weekly. In fact, I'll bet good money that I'll see the check itself around the middle of March, but it'll be predated to December 31 for Skiffy's tax purposes.
