I did another walk, after dining.  Venus looked like an aircraft on final approach to the airport.

I've seen it that bright. First it's just startling; then you think about how bright it would have looked in a world without electric lights, and it's bloody awesome. Small wonder it became associated with the concept of Beauty.

This isn't actually the brightest we've seen it -- a few years back, both Wife and I had to line the damned spot up with a roof-line to make sure it wasn't moving.
