No, the roads haven't dried off enough for a bike ride.  But not raining, temperature around 60 F, so I did get out for a brisk two-mile walk.

The world looks a little better now.  Even if the mailbox continues to contain no checks.

Yeah, our mailbox has been check-free for freelance payments owed as well. (Of course in our case it's a publisher, and those guys tend to interpret "net in 60" as "put in for the check at five minutes before close of business on day 60" -- and that's the honest ones.)

Well, one of ours is "payment on publication" for those French translations that came out in March or April. Yeah, I know, *all* foreign payments come under the "whenever" heading on the budget . . .

But with the dollar/euro ratio getting less favorable, we'd prefer sooner than later.
