Another of the minor mysteries of life . . .

Came home from a brief shopping "out" to find a little red car nosed into the telephone pole two houses down, with cop in possession of the scene. Significant damage to front end of car, no estimate of condition of pole but it is still upright.

This is a residential street, straight, dry pavement, 25 MPH speed limit. You'd almost have to be aiming . . .

Maybe the driver was using his or her laptop computer while driving like the erratic driver in front of us on the highway yesterday?

Well, we came up with:

1. Drunk
2. Medical condition
3. Dodging cat/dog/squirrel in the road
4. Cell phone
5. Wasp in car

Not necessarily in order of likelihood.

Those do seem like reasonable possibilities. I got stung by what was probably either a wasp or a hornet while driving once. I have no trouble believing that having that happen could cause an accident.
