Wednesday roadkill report

One red-bellied snake. This is what I've come to, in cataloging roadkill -- not even squirrels, just a single 8" snake no thicker than a pencil. And that's probably an adult . . .
Roads pretty much dry (and not washed out), partly cloudy, temperature in the mid 60s F. Got out and got yesterday's miles in today. The thistle and cattail seedheads are fluffing out -- probably a lot of happy goldfinches in the world.
Term noted in this morning's paper -- "Fogust" to describe the month's weather. We will save that one.
15.29 miles, 1:06:48
901 miles for the year-to-date. Should be up past 1000 now, but . . .
