The weather is not currently raining, snowing, sleeting, or buffeting us with vicious icy blasts straight from the Canadian steppes.  I suspect that these omissions represent an oversight on the part of the weather PTBs, who will soon realize and remedy their mistake.

(Forecast offers us All Of The Above for the next few days.  For the record, we have recorded about 8' of snow for the winter to date.  Much of which has, indeed, melted away, so that you can still see out the ground floor windows...)

Canadian steppes? Is that where the Canadian Cossacks ride? Or the Canadian Hordes?

I think it's hordes. The Cossacks are further east.

Now I'm imagining the Don Cossacks, the Zaparogian Cossacks, and the Musquodoboit Cossacks. The last group, of course, have the 100 cat-tail standard.

Is that the Don Paul Cossacks?

I was thinking of the Don river Cossacks. The Don Paul Cossacks, I suspect, would be somewhat different, and no doubt quite fabulous.

One might assume the Don Paul Cossacks would be very knowledgeable about Scotch...

Without a doubt.
