Okay, sometime last summer I set the digital camera to "closeup" mode for this really handsome Aminita muscaria in the woods.  Today I go to print out exterior photos of the latest pigeon loft, and discover that the photos look fuzzy.  Checked the settings.  Still on "closeup."

I'm used to film cameras.  Neither of my Nikons have a closeup switch on them -- you swap lenses and maybe go to extension tubes.  And with an SLR, you notice if the image stays blurry on you.

Well, I needed to go back there anyway.

that's wierd - when I set "macro" on my digital camera, it defaults back to normal focal length when I turn it off.

That is strange. My camera also turns off macro when I turn it off. At least, I could have sworn it did. o.o

Maybe it's time for a digital SLR? Get a Nikon D-SLR and the old lenses are probably still useful.
