Still awaiting the Perfect Storm.  Turns out that Wife did manage to communicate with the nature center's fill-in* caretaker via answering machine, so that stakes marking this and that have appeared around the parking lot and ornamental boulders.  The picnic table has moved.  I did not need to risk bodily integrity, etc., etc.

*This being the root cause of the Great Unreadiness -- the normal guy (John1) being off in Australia at this time, we are relying on John2 for the care and maintenance of the site.
