"Intelligent Design" requires a "Designer."  Don't try to claim it isn't religion.

Unless the designer is/was some sort of alien entity - perhaps from a "higher dimension". But not a supernatural entity. Of course, it tends to just push the prime issue back a step, but so does religion if you think about it too much.
