Mill and swill and sundry
Oct. 6th, 2007 09:55 amManaged to survive the "reception" for our local Book Festival last night, using my standard social tactic of grabbing a glass of wine and finding a safe corner to put at my back. I am not a public person. The venue had interest, at least, one of the "lumber baron" mansions that dot our fair city and represent what God would build if He had the budget. Nice woodwork.
Note to Elder Son -- ran into the librarian who used to supervise your volunteer work. She remembers you after all these years and made the connection of names. Says "Hi!"
Nice day, blue sky and cool fresh Canadian air, none of the tailpipe trash from Boston and NYC. I may make another cider run back into the hill country, in hopes of those Greening apples I missed last time.
Reading aloud from DRAGON'S TEETH at the library this afternoon. Maybe I should have saved some of that wine...

Date: 2007-10-06 03:18 pm (UTC)Think we could have some of that back? It's currently 70F here. Which doesn't sound bad until you add in the humidity, then it's 85F.

Re: Reading
Date: 2007-10-07 01:30 am (UTC)I was amused to note what percentage of the audience had Book Festival tags hanging around their necks. I think we had maybe 10% civilians and the rest either organizer-people or other authors...
I signed one book. I think Kristen signed one. Not a great time/sales ratio.
