Yeah, he is. He wouldn't make a pimple on a good soldier's ass.

I disagree.

I don't think he would make a pimple on a bad soldier's ass, either.

Rush Limbaugh an asshole? C'mon, you're joshing me. No-one would ever believe that.

(Unless, of course, they'd ever heard him bloviating on the radio ...)

[identity profile] jhetley.livejournal.com 2007-09-30 10:42 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you see, I haven't. Don't listen to talk radio, except under duress (in someone else's space, for example.)

So I have to have my nose rubbed in it.

I accidentally tuned to a station that was airing him once. I felt like I needed a shower to wash off Teh Stupid.

Just to play devils advocate (almost literally in this case), there has been some claim made that he was being quoted out of context and that earlier in the show he was specifically talking about Jesse Macbeth. Of course, the person from whom I heard this wasn't strictly speaking defending the man, he was just saying that Rush has said plenty of equivalent things about which there is no ambiguity. Of course the reply to that was, "if he's referring to Macbeth, why did he keep using the plural..."

Anyway, my personal opinion of him has not been changed by this incident. He is still a jackass who doesn't know jack.

Already refuted. There's raw footage of the broadcast available which proves that he cut about 90 seconds out of it in order to make that claim. Which shouldn't really surprise anyone; he's already known to be the worst kind of liar, the kind who really believes that it happened the way he said it did instead of the way it happened.

Fully as bad as "nappy-headed hos", but since he wasn't splashing shit on blacks or females, he probably won't suffer the Imus Fate.

[identity profile] starcat-jewel.livejournal.com 2007-09-30 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, because of course The Liberals won't be howling for his head. And Everyone Knows that's the only reason anyone ever gets fired for making politically-incorrect comments.

Oh, wait...

[identity profile] jhetley.livejournal.com 2007-09-30 02:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, like I said about Imus, the _real_ reason he got fired was that he insulted college athletes.

[identity profile] starcat-jewel.livejournal.com 2007-09-30 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
And the real reason that Limbaugh won't be fired is that It's Okay If You're A Republican.

But if you want to throw your drop into the bucket, [livejournal.com profile] pecunium has ferreted out a list of Limbaugh's advertising sponsors and published their official contact information here.

Not a damn one of them I patronize...

Doesn't stop a _potential_ customer from sending of a complaint "From a veteran."

[identity profile] jhetley.livejournal.com 2007-09-30 12:09 pm (UTC)(link)
In the literal sense, the advocatus diaboli is not defending the devil, ala "Sympathy for the Devil", but pointing out defects in a Roman Catholic case for sainthood.

*lifted eyebrow*

Are you proposing Rush for sainthood?

Yes! All three of them! Neil especially, after what .... Oh, wait, you meant Limbaugh. No. No. Absolutely not.
