Trying to prove that I'm a writer

The only way that matters. By writing.

Settled down and got in a few words on Chapter X, in which The Bitch straps on her cross-country skis and makes a couple of unpleasant discoveries. And finds an ally she can't feel comfortable in trusting.

I'd like a little more energy here. A little more motivation. This thing isn't glowing at me. Maybe I need to crank a few turns on the forge blower.

What's it gonna be -- sex, violence? Alien invasion? No, that last one is over on Beowulf's bit of shore.

Two out of three ain't bad.

And as a backup, the impersonal deadly rage of Maine winter.

We take you now to the DownEast Headquarters of the LIMEX LIBERATION ARMY, where General Alouisis Ded observes the goings-on in Naskeg Falls via Secret Spy Ray...

Jim's characters have a Secret Spy Ray? No fair.

Hmm.

Hey, Jim -- I'll trade you Inscrutable Ghodlike Aliens for the Secret Spy Ray. Deal? I'm really tired of the Inscrutables, here...

Sorry

No, that's WCG's characters that have the Secret Spy Ray. You'll have to cut a deal with him if you want to swap. I don't know if he can use Inscrutable Ghodlike Aliens in any of his stuff.

I think the ultimate credit for the Secret Spy Ray has to go to John Barnstead (or possibly Edward Elmer Smith). As for Inscrutable Ghodlike Aliens, I can check with old Admiral Pompei Brownpatch Scipio of the Roman Bunnies. He has a knack for screwing with the Inscrutable.

Jim has written in many, many fictons. I figured that if he knew Al Ded was slipping in, he'd be inspired to write something to drive the giant slug out.

I think Al Ded might have a hard time moving in on this scene -- literally. Mid-December, Maine coast, temp is somewhere around 20 F with a wind. Not Slug weather.

That's why he's monitoring it via Secret Spy Ray. He's smart enough to stay away from the road salt.

Ded aside, good luck with the writing Jim. I look forward to reading it.

The traditional lead

... and then, a shot rang out.

I may end up using that one. It's in the public domain, yes?
