Watching the leaves go sideways

jhetleyWindy today, after morning rain. A lot of leaves have come down, but the show is still good. If you live in an area with white pines, they are losing needles as well, carpeting the ground with yellow roller bearings. Slippery when wet.
Headed upriver on the bike ride, comfortable enough that I was considering a run up to the next town and the bridge there. Then I noticed the flag at the golf course, straight out and showing all its stripes. Wind at my back then, so in my face coming back. Decided on the classic "better part of valour" and headed home. Took longer going that way....
