Need more snow

(Getting a little repetitive here, aren't we?)

Went out to the city forest and did my circuit, just _barely_ enough snow cover. I figure I can get in one more run, maybe Monday, before the track combines too much ice with too much gravel.

And since we have a 15K cross-country race scheduled for next Saturday, the folks in charge had better crank up the snow machines pronto. Some of that route runs along an old railroad embankment, which might be okay, but then it takes off through the woods up hill and down dale where the stumps and roots and rocks will dine well on skis.

Silly me, I thought that living in Maine would guarantee good skiing.

4 miles, 50 minutes +/- (I stopped to talk to a guy about halfway through.)

At least you actually have snow, of the nominally ski-able variety no less. We've still got bare ground underneath the evergreens (and the more densely-branched deciduous trees, as well).

On a brighter note, today wasn't so cold as to require the massively down-filled parka. We might have even broken above the freezing point.

Warmer here, also -- mid 20s F, I think. After another subzero start, of course, and they promise colder again for next week. With no snow in sight.

Sigh...

we had a few flurries today... and last I looked your area was expecting some snow showers in the middle of the week....

the birds are all hungry and the snowmachine guys are wearing their trails out... let's hope we don't get all winter in a week sometime in March!
