When you read about Fearless Leader attacking the Fed for not cutting interest rates, remember that F.L.'s empire is built on borrowed money.

So is most of America at this point. Almost every town is insolvent. An increasing percentage of adults have college debt they will never earn enough to pay off, plus the ones laboring under medical debt.

After a while, people just conclude that society runs on debt, and since they rarely have the power to escape even personal debt, they stop responding to it as a concern unless they're being threatened with a service shutoff or jail. Because that's all they can do.

Strong Towns posts a lot of articles about why most municipalities are broke. It relates to a lot of America's debt situations. I mean, I suck at math, but I can look around and see that most people are broke, see the signs of it, see things falling apart. What charms me about this site is they have people who can actually do the math to show why America is broke in the community aspect, and also how people are lying about it and covering it up. It's nice to have details even if most people are ignoring them.
