Interlude

We appear to be between rains at the moment. I mowed the lawn during a similar episode yesterday afternoon, and ended up as wet as if I'd stood out in the rain. Humidity, thy name is . . . well, humidity.

This afternoon, I may attack the ivy that is attacking our side fence and the neighbor's garage.

Did attack SIGNATURES this morning, adding a few things and chopping those two end chapters into flinders. Lost about 6000 words in the process, but if they aren't _essential_ words, they're outta here. Still don't agree that Fat Wizard is acting racist by bitching about cabbies who don't speak English. I thought that was Universal Truth . . .

There's a fair amount of racism in it - most of it not by him - but the cabbie thing didn't stand out to me - it wasn't a bitching about people who don't speak English, it was a positive comment about people who *do* - which gave it a different feeling.

I like him.

Glad you like him.

I think Nice Agent Lady just doesn't want to give an editor any excuse to decide against the book. Maybe she's gunshy after GHOST POINT.

Which reminds me - have you a copy of Word that can read my comments? In which case, I'll simply e-mail you the file.

(I might hate M$ on principle, but there are a couple or three features of Word I find useful. If I could create several reviewers under the same login, it would be even better...)

I have Word97 and WordXP (2002?) available. W97 resides on the email computer, so if your file gives backward-compatibility issues, I'll just have to transfer it to the laptop.

Wife is currently working through the agent-requested-rewrite version, checking to see if it still makes sense.
