I am often amused by the number of people who define success or failure in their own lives by the wins or losses of a group of highly-paid mercenaries they have never met.
I worked at, and attended classes at, Syracuse University. *Our* football team's performance has been less than stellar lately and Saturday they played a non-conference game against someone they had to pay to come here. The final score was Us 62 them 24. I do not subscribe to the 'drive them into the ground' way of playing and I am disgusted.
Our local university is one of the ones that gets paid to serve as a practice dummy. Good thing that neither of our sons, who attended there, feels heavy brand-loyalty.
