The return of February

Temperature near 0 F (-17 C) this morning, with wind. Forecasts of gusts up to 50 mph, windchill factors in the dangerous range where Celsius and Fahrenheit meet. I think I will stay inside.

Words added to SIGNATURES this morning, Fat Wizard has now found out about the _other_ explosion. This is not good. At least the hospital knows how to adjust treatment for a wizard or witch -- different physiology....

Speaking of ellipses at the end of a sentence, apparently the rules have changed since the days of my youth. The copy-edit changed all my four-dot versions to three-dot. I learned it that if you were ending a complete sentence, you added one.... Whereas, for an incomplete...

Hell of a good hockey game. I'd been semi-sorta rooting for Finland on the underdog bias and because I like Sibelius.

Chicago Manual of Style now says that in a four-point ellipsis, the first point is the period, not the last. Confounded the hell out of me when I read it.

My shoot-from-the-lip comment was "How can you tell." However, in typesetting, I think they change the spacing. At least the book admits to a four-dot version....
