Rain

Yeah, I know. You've heard _that_ before.

Brings to mind old Alan Sherman, "... and they say that we'll have fun if it stops raining."

I wonder how many people (snowmobiles, cars, pickups, fishing shacks) fell through the ice yesterday. According to the news-critters, January 2006 was the third or fourth warmest January on record, and February hasn't shown signs of breaking that trend. We didn't set a daily record yesterday, but came within a degree or two.

But the heating oil bill is down.

Oh, and about that football game -- what genius decided they needed to bring Mick Jagger and Company into Motown to sing for the halftime show? No local talent big enough?

Meanwhile, back at the hyphens...

We have actual honest-to-God snow here for the first time since December, so it should be coming your way tomorrow.

And Mick Jagger and company at the Super Bowl? Gives me a reason for watching the damn thing :-)

I don't think we'll get snow out of this one -- our rain is actually the same storm as your snow, with the "low" headed north between us. So, by the time the wind swings around and cold gets here, we'll have run out of wet.

And as far as Mick is concerned, I've already noted how aging rockers just depress me...

More likely "no local talent white enough". But they could at least have gotten Bob Seger, who got his start in Detroit.
