It's strange. I have a friend in Nova Scotia and we email sometimes daily. This morning she asked me how I could stand waiting, in HER country they vote, go to bed and next day they have results. This is twice she's said something about the way 'we' do things and I find I am defensive and want to defend 'us'. And yet, what I see these days - the hatred, as you mention here, and the divisiveness - make me so sad.
