Joys of the northland

Air temperature 45 F, wind near calm, cloudy. Areas without cloud bottomed out in the 30s F. Supposed to bounce back into the 60s this afternoon. Memorial Day is the traditional "frost free" day for tender plants in this area.

Feline mysteries

Met up with Ms. Sasha on my rounds, at her neighbor's front walk again. But I did not have her undivided attention. She was staring at something in the shrubbery, and kept checking even when getting her required attention. Don't know if it was another cat, a woodchuck, or even a skunk. Or an invader from the seventh dimension. Never saw it.

Hummer updating

Household reports that the male hummingbird is still hanging around the azalea. Couldn't prove it by me. All I ever see out there is bumblebees. To be sure, some of those aren't much smaller than a ruby-throat.
