Air temperature 47 F, wind southwest 10 mph gusting to 19, raining. Rain supposed to stop in a couple of hours, so walks may be occurring. Yard will probably be too wet for more cleanup, which my back welcomes. Maine and Massachusetts still remember the *first* American civil war.

First of the spring, they hang out in their nests until the foraging improves. Note that this is the "northern red squirrel" rather than the European of the same name.

Got out for my walk, weather started sprinkling when I was about as far from home as possible. Did not get worse. Lot of robins out harvesting worms. No cats.

Well, we seem to have gotten through another canoe race without fatality. Left a few canoes wrapped around rocks in the rapids.
