Air temperature 37 F, wind south about 5 mph, cloudy with scattered fog. Far side of the park exists behind a thin veil. No geese at the moment. This being the equinox or thereabouts, I believe we can now claim to have survived another Maine winter.
At least six geese out in the State Hospital fields when I drove past. Since they were paired up and scattered rather than a compact flock, I suspect these were over-winter birds rather than migrants.
