Mud season vista

Air temperature 28 F, wind northeast about 5 mph, foggy -- visibility about .5 mile at the airport. Can just about see across the park, here. Still have the last vestiges of snow on the uphill side of our driveway. Otherwise, bare ground. With a winter's supply of branches and twigs and random trash.

Migration report

Had a flock of 20 or so geese in the park when I headed out on my walk, several hundred mixed blackbirds in various trees, and a probable mini-flock of robins. All the ones I could ID were dark-head males. They come through a couple of weeks ahead of the females, so I don't think these were over-winter birds.

Also met up with Ms. Sasha on my rounds, so *she's* been checked off my list.
