Thursday goose report
Oct. 31st, 2024 03:26 pmAbout a dozen geese in the cemetery pond as I headed out on my ride. Didn't see them when I came back, but the light angle is bad in the afternoons. Anyway, they haven't all headed south.
No roadkill to report. Was at least one woolly bear on the asphalt, no idea if it was alive or not.
Many of the trees bare, including the tamaracks in the bog. With the leaves down, the winterberry crop looks great.
Got out on the bike, upriver route, 76 F now but windy. That's a new record high for the date. Did not die. Ride takes me to 1100 miles for the year, which is a surprise.
