Air temperature 53 F, wind southwest about 3 mph, fog at the airport and low clouds here. No reports of WWIII on the morning radio, so I'm planning a bike ride after we warm up a little.

That corpse I couldn't identify the last time I rode this route? Possum. Got a good look at that long hairless tail. We're at the far northeast edge of their range and I think this is only the second roadkill possum I've seen in many thousands of miles of survey.

Not roadkill, a dozen or so geese at the cemetery pond. No sign of them, going out, but they showed up for my return pass.

Asters and chicory. Even the goldenrod has gone by. More trees getting into the autumn thing, with aspens and birches starting to go yellow. Some of the maples and all of the oaks still hanging onto green.

Headed out on the bike, repeating the upriver and bog route because of an air quality "situation" downriver. Did not die.
