Air temperature 50 F, wind north about 7 mph, fog at the airport and partly cloudy here. Furnace tech never showed up yesterday. Now contemplating a change of service provider -- or did I screw up the appointment date on our calendar? Stay tuned.

Tuesday goose report

Thirty or forty geese on and around the cemetery pond when I headed out, maybe twenty when I came back, with another dozen or so halfway up the hill after I passed the pond. Also, maybe a dozen ducks on the other side of the pond from the geese, most likely mallards.

Roadkill, something in the mid-sized mammal range about two miles into my ride, can't get more definite than that. Cat, small dog, woodchuck, raccoon. Then, adult porcupine in the ditch as I headed down into the bog. Garter snake on the far side of the bog from that.

Asters, goldenrod still at it. Milkweed pods splitting open, feral apple trees dropping fruit, upland trees getting into this color-changing thing.

Got out on the bike, low 60s F and some sun, little wind. Did not die.
