Air temperature 58 F, wind near calm, cloudy with scattered fog. AQI 42, at the upper end of "good" so we're still getting the effluvia of a continent. Bike ride planned.

Working my way up a hill about 10 miles into the ride, and saw a red fox trot out to the roadside in front of me. It turned back, then considered my slow progress and decided to go ahead and cross. Moved well, good fur, bushy tail, so not visibly sick. No idea what it was doing out on a subdivision lawn in mid-morning.

No geese, either on outward leg or coming back home. Actual roadkill limited to one gray squirrel. Usual profusion of asters. Some upland trees are getting serious about turning color, including the ash trees doing their change-and-drop routine.

Got out on the bike, neither too hot nor too cold, not much wind. Did not die.

15.31 miles, 1:20:50

Instead of talking like a pirate, how about talking like a sane adult? I know that can be hard . . .
