The tide is ebbing

Air temperature 51 F, wind near calm, fog at the airport and a gathering of gulls in the park. The world has not improved overnight. Maybe bike ride later.

Friday no goose then goose report

Geese absent when I headed out past the cemetery pond, maybe three dozen when I came back. All on the water, on the far side of the pond, so that's just a guess.

Dead porcupine on the other side of the road, this side of the bog. Couple of unwise chipmunks flattened. Some other blotches unidentified.

Chicory continuing to bloom, smartweed, so also various asters, the goldenrod, and the damned illegal alien purple loosestrife and Japanese knotweed.

Temperature got up above 60 F, little wind, biked upriver and inland and back. Did not die.

Keep seeing more e-bikes around the neighborhood. They'll probably vanish in a couple of months, Maine weather being what it is.
