Wednesday roadkill report
Sep. 4th, 2024 11:27 amOne dead woodchuck by the weeds at nearly five miles into my route, area I've seen both live and dead woodchucks and chuck tunnels before, and dead gray squirrel that looked recent. Not squashed flat, on a road that gets a fair amount of traffic.
Nothing much new in the floral or foliage departments -- even the poison ivy hasn't started to turn red in this section. Stay tuned.
No military birds at the airport. Had a couple of light planes that seemed to be doing takeoffs and landings, one high-wing that looked like the old Cessna 150 student pilot stalwart and one low-wing that I'm not enough of a bird-watcher to ID. Also, heard mockingbirds in a couple of locations.
Got out on the bike, 60 F when I headed out and 70 F when I got home, did not die.
15.69 miles, 1:24:40
