Futility blues

Air temperature 66 F, wind northeast about 5 mph, cloudy. Not supposed to start raining until after midnight, so will probably try for a bike ride. Can't stop the human race from riding headlong into hell, anyway.

Monday miscellaneous

Some yarrow joining the roadside crew, not rampant like its cousin tansy. Burdock going to burrs, milkweed pods fattening but still green. I think we've moved on to meadow thistles rather than the Canada. No roadkill to report.

Not-roadkill, a couple-dozen geese at the cemetery pond. Some of them seem to be half-scale models. Don't know where they were hanging out before getting adult plumage.

Got out on the bike, got misted in a couple of the higher sections of road where I might have been bumping up against the underside of the clouds. Did not die. Ride takes me over 600 miles for the season.
