Air temperature 61 F, wind west 10 mph gusting to 19, partly cloudy. Roads drying off, dog-walkers and joggers out early. Trash out, bike ride on the schedule.

Friday floral complaint

Various jurisdictions are mowing my bicycle botany. While I applaud their efforts to cut down on my roadkill count, it does make floral ID harder. Nothing new to mention.

Did get a probable chipmunk corpse. Size and fur color were right. Not-roadkill, four adult geese at the cemetery pond on my return swing past. No flotilla of youngsters, though.

Got out on the bike, temperature and humidity not horrible, wind a nuisance. Upriver and across to the bog and home. Did not die.

Bike ride addendum

I can't help but feel sorry for whoever is stuck with cleaning up the mowing machine they used out there in the bog, clearing off the shredded poison ivy . . .
