Air temperature 60 F, light southeast breeze, partly cloudy. Weather radar clear for the entire state. Forage morning, bike ride after lunch. If it doesn't get too hot. Catbirds still rule the azalea, incubating now.

One dead woodchuck by the side of the road, about 9 miles into my ride, looked fresh. One fragmentary turtle half a mile further on, yellow plastron so probably painted turtle. Not-roadkill, about 8 geese at the cemetery pond.

Bunch of new flowers -- some vining cinquefoil, birdsfoot trefoil, calla in the bog, and the brambles are starting in. Can't tell if those are blackberries or raspberries. Some rugosa roses. Lupines are filling out their flower spikes. Good year for the blue flags in various bogs and marshes.

Got out on the bike, upriver and home, warmer than I'd like. Did not die.
