The Sunday follies

Air temperature 48 F, light north wind, sunny. I continue to be offended that sports competitions deny me the chance to have both teams lose. Bike ride planned, maybe stretching the mileage out.

New flowers limited to one black locust tree blooming and one orange hawkweed among a sea of yellow.

No roadkill except for a busy intersection blocked for several light changes by a caravan of bikers numbering over a hundred. Looked to be Shriners. Loud and smelly -- no catalytic converters on those things.

Multiple mockingbirds out at the airport, declaiming territory from at least three directions. Also, two C-130s parked in the visitors' lot.

Got out on the bike after air temperature topped 60 F, discarded my fantasy of a longer ride and just did across town and back. Did not die.
