Air temperature 53 F, wind west about 8 mph, clear sky. Had wisps of ground fog over the park early, looking a bit spooky. Foraging morning, maybe bike ride afternoon.

What you see is quite often what you want to see, because that's what you are looking for . . .

Was checking the azalea for hummingbirds (none) and caught some motion down on the ground under my window. Chipping sparrow tugging at dry grass and gathering strands in its beak. Nesting material. Not going to try to find where it is being installed.

Probable snowshoe hare in the middle of the hill down to the bog, well flattened but the fur color and size were right. Hey, I go 30 mph down that hill, I'm not getting details.

More shadbush blooming, bracken unfurling in the forest edge, birches letting down their catkins. Day by day, the year advances. Trees are beginning to define their shapes.

Windy, gusts 25 mph, but temperature reached 70 F for the first time since October. Got out on the bike, did not die.
