Air temperature 26 F, wind near calm, sunny. Patchy fog and mist overnight, frost gleaming on the grass. The bare grass. Not a patch of snow in sight. Still slouching toward Bethlehem.
Many ethical systems have a variation of "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." This breaks down if the others do horrible things and then require you to be moral.
Wedge of about 30 geese overhead on my morning walk, calling as geese do. They were headed in the general direction of the mall, but I suspect they weren't planning on a stop. That's pretty much due north from where I was walking.
