Air temperature 35 F, wind southeast about 5 mph, cloudy. Rain not supposed to show up until tomorrow and not make a serious attack. Walk should be possible.

The ravening hordes

Goldfinch assault on the sunflower feeders, with a couple of juncos and cardinals cleaning up underneath. Enjoy it while you got it, birds. We're probably going to switch over to thistle only, because of the squirrel situation.

Snowdrops blooming in several spots in the neighborhood, including the house we call the Mustard Pot because of its paint scheme. Crocus flowers next to the sun porch foundation of our old house, where they get heat from the house and direct southern sun. New owners still have a blue tarp over the damaged roofing there.
