Air temperature 31 F, wind north gusting to 30 mph, overcast. Snow moving out, leaving a minor nuisance coating -- an inch, maybe two, of fresh layer. City hasn't bothered to plow yet.

Driveway is shoveled, leaving the packed tire tracks of the guy who uses our drive as a turn-around after delivering the kid to the school bus. I want to put up a curmudgeon sign about that, but won't.

City plow truck has negated some of our earlier work. Which was expected. Not a really messy mess this time -- lacked the raw materials to do a proper job.

I have long wondered how people or groups can claim protection under the rules of civilization when they refuse to follow those rules themselves. One thing I learned back in Philosophy 101 was that any system of ethics must be reciprocal.
