Another day dawns

Air temperature 31 F, wind near calm, overcast. Supposed to get a little more snow tonight, just a couple of inches. Drowning death yesterday, someone fell through thin ice. Winter has many ways to betray you.

One thing that you see on the internet, besides cat photos, is a lot of people telling total strangers what they must do.

House near the end of this afternoon's walk has a metal roof, popular in this area because it sheds snow. Which it was doing, in a sheet about 5' long hanging straight down continuous across the entire front eave.

We don't often see that kind of uniform tensile strength out of a few inches of snow.
