Waiting for the storm

Air temperature 18 F, wind north 14 mph gusting to 27, windchill 4 F. Partly cloudy sky under waning crescent and planet. Trash out, collection one day delayed due to Monday holiday. Snow expected tonight into tomorrow. Supposed to be a minor nuisance here and more of an event south and west of us.

Midair sparkles fly

Minor snow shower on my morning walk, sun still shining. The air filled with glitter. I'll note, for the record, that I walked in shoes rather than boots, a week into January in Maine.
